I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
